   Hello all,
   Have been trying now for a good while to install a fresh 2.5.1.
   I as others get the password issue, I simply can't log in after the installation is done.
   Also the email reset won't work, I get the error message.
   and yes ...
   I have done the "Resetting password though phpAdmin";

   I tried both changing the password AND lifting out the one that is shown in the db.
   Nothing works... at all.

   So ...
   I thought I try a previous version, install it, see if I can log in.
   If all is good then I upgrade to the current version and see what happens.

   So where can I download lets say version 2.5.0?

   if you are gonna download any other version besides 2.5.1, let it be 2.0.11, which is the only other SECURE version of WP available.

   Ok thank you.
   I found by the way the older ones just seconds ago and installed the 2.5.0.
   Same issues again. Have not tried altering in the phpAdmin, but I won't since I suspect the results anyhow ...

   Could it be a web host issue? Doesn't seem right that you're having so many problems w/it.

   Took your 'advice' and started to dig around the hoster. It is a new one for me and I got it just a few days ago. My plan was to point a DNS to a specific folder within it all and as soon as I went very 'basic' and put the word press in the root ...
   It all went like clockwork. :))
