Wordpress adding weird code after any & symbols? (2 posts)

Hello. I maintain a Wordpress site that has links to many Itunes songs.
The problem I am having is that after posting these links, I take a look at the source of my page and notice Wordpress adds either #038 or amp; after any & sign on my page. This results in botched affiliate links, meaning I have lost a week's worth of income because of this issue. The links simply are not tracking when I look at my reports.

Why does WP do this, and is there any way I can stop this from happening?

My affiliate site tells me to add:
<!--Webbot bot="HTMLMarkup" startspan -->
<!--Webbot bot="HTMLMarkup" endspan -->
to my page to stop this, but it's still changing the links after I change them back. Any help would be appreciated...

I would suggest changing affiliates as & or & is the appropriate way to add ampersands.

It also depends on where you're adding this stuff. If you're adding it in the "Write Post" panel, the editor should automatically add this. Otherwise, you can add the invalid code to your PHP files.
