Thanks 😉
Somehow I can´t figure out whats really going on now. I saw some “we are working on this” etc. (2003) but I still don´t know, if there is a central String file for translation or not.
It is not a hard thing to do, so I just wonder if you should take on this task an internationalize WordPress or if a porper system is included in the latest beta.

now my question is how to have 2 or more interfaces in different languages.
i tried to install two copies of wordpress linked to the same database.
one copy is localized using the proper *.mo file. the main index page looks fine. but all the links on that page are linked to the “main” language copy. by “main language copy” i mean the language i set when installing the wordpress. it seems to me all the links are absolute, instead of relative.
any workaround for this?
OK, here is my question:
Do you really want two copies of WP, or you just want to be able to switch from one language to another?
For this latter case take a look at the Language Picker plugin: http://noprerequisite.com/language_picker/

cool. i suppose this is what i want, apart from i might not able to keep multiple copies of the same post in different languages and i’ll let the visitors see all posts, regardless of the language they choose. they can just skip those articles they don’t understand. i guess i can fool the language_picker on this.
thanks!
I search a language switcher for wordpress 1.5, or a multilingual blog like b2evolution.net!
Exists a WordPress Plugin for that?
Polyglot is not HTML conform!
gh3, I understand you want to publicize your plugin but digging out year old posts is not a good idea.
(Moderators tend to get angry at multiple posting!)
You made your own post about it:

that should be enough!
