This would be a problem with Jetpack I think, which could be in any part of Jetpack. They’re most likely doing something that is preventing plugins from filtering the_content() to add sharing functionality. Could you try posting in their forums? If there’s no response there soon I can try to reach them as well.
Jetpack’s a pretty big plugin, so it tends to introduce nasty bugs like this from time to time even though it’s made by some of the best WordPress developers around. There’s a small chance I’m doing something wrong, but that’s unlikely since the issue was introduced in the Jetpack update, and Jetpack’s pretty far-reaching in terms of manipulating how WordPress works. I’ll take a deeper look in the next few days if we don’t hear anything.
I’m sure it’s Jetpack as the timing of it coincides exactly with the jetpack update. Posted fine before but wouldn’t share afterwards. Can pinpoint to the day. Will try and post in jetpack forums but don’t hold your breath!
I was able to reproduce this issue, which was still present after all Jetpack modules were disabled. However, when I deactivated and reactivated Jetpack itself, it started working, with any modules enabled including their version of sharing. Could you see if that works for you?
I already tried deactivating and reactivating Jetpack. It worked fine on my practice site zanchit.co.uk which is how I knew it was jetpack but for some reason it didn’t work on my proper site http://www.rchittenden.co.uk Will try again. Odd as the theme is the same in both.
Jetpack have released an update. Thought would address the issue. But sadly not. Updated, deactivated, purged from cache, reactivated QuickShare but still not appearing on new post. Not sure what else can do. Don’t worry about it, Nick as can use the jetpack sharing for time being. Just thought I would flag it…
