Starting a second web site

    I’m starting a second web site and closing down my old one; I have a new URL for the new, and will retain the old one so individuals searching for me will be directed automatically to the new.
    The question is if it is easier to start a whole new web site from scratch or reconfigure the old one and then somehow shift it to the new URL?
