• I tried to do a restore and the first time or two, I got an error about MrSQL being deleted and was prompted to re-install WordPress. Which I did. Then activated all of the plugins I needed to activate and tried restoring again. (Note: I’m trying to duplicate the site from one server to the another, as we’re opening a new location and want to just use the same basic site. I’ll update graphics later.)

However, with the second restore, I got a “Restore Successful” notification. Then, I went to the page and, at the very top, I get two of these error messages:

Warning: Illegal offset type in /home/commdriver/public_html/wp-content/plugins/contact-form-7/includes/shortcodes.php on line 15

Both error codes are identical. And now I can’t access anything within WordPress. The pages are blank save the error code above.

  • Do you still the original site live?

When I use wp clone, I choose advance options, and use the zip file, it’s quicker and always works.

Of course, any links you have will have to be changed to the new one, but it’s been working for me everytime I back up a site.

Yes, the original site is still live.

Are you saying use the alternate zip file in the advanced settings on the original site?

I’m going to give this a shot and see what happens…

    Yes, it’s the way I do it…

    I think you’re on to something…

    It worked.

I did have to go through one more round of the “Install WordPress” business. But after that and after reactivating the WP Clone plugin and restoring from the alternate zip, it worked exactly as advertised.

    Thanks for your help!
