Display full author name than username

Hi Jeff:

Sorry to return back to raise another query with you. Now, the logged in user could be assigned as the author of an post as long as the necessary option is checked in the setting as you explained in this link.

My question is, can the user’s “Display name publicly as” be associated as the author name than the username? Because when I am trying to output the author’s name using the_author_posts_link() function, the username is getting displayed than the full name which is selected under “Display name publicly as.”
