• I have two wordpress websites (www.w1.com and http://www.w2.com) hosted with different providers. I am trying to move w2.com into the same hosting space as w1.com. So I copied the content of w2.com into w1.com/w2. I ran some tests using the url w1.com/w2 and everything is fine. After I changed my domain name to point w2.com to w1.com/w2, the address bar still says “w1.com/w2” instead of “w2.com”. Someone told me there is a setting in the index file to change the behavior, but I can not find it. Can anyone help?

    I read thru the moving_wordpress link above, and I changed:

    Settings->General Settings->Site Address (URL) to http://w2.com

    and kept

    Settings->General Settings->WordPress Address (URL) to http://w1.com/w2

    Unfortunately this breaks every single link my w2.com – w2.com loads up fine, but clicking on any link there results in an ‘internal server error’. Before the change I was able to access the links without errors. What am I doing wrong?

    I also want to point out that on my domain name setting, I have set:

    http://w2.com to point to http://w1.com/w2

    and http://w1.com/w2 is the root of my wordpress installation

    I have been trying to figure out whats wrong all day without any progress. After I set the ‘Site Address (URL)’ to http://w2.com, I added a new post, but it does not even appear on the main page (main page shows a list of posts starting with the latest). However if I change ‘Site Address (URL)’ back to http://w1.com/w2, the new post I just added appears on the main page. Any ideas what I am doing wrong? How do I make the site so that it shows up as http://w2.com/xxxx rather than http://w1.com/w2/xxxx?
