When I tried to schedule a post to publish a few days from now, it automatically went into “edit text” mode, but caught no spelling errors, then refused to schedule the post. It simply switched back to “proofread” mode and sat there. When I deleted the advance date and tried to publish it immediately, the same thing happened. I’m at a loss.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

Thank you, esmi. Deactivating all the plugins did the trick. Will now work my way back through the to find the culprit.

    Thanks again.

Found the culprit…it’s Jetpack. Specifically, Jetpack 2.9.

/ Jetpack wants to connect the user imblacknitravel at imblacknitravel.com to imblacknitravel at WordPress.com. /

My blog isn’t on wordpress.com; it’s on GoDaddy. Is there a way to resolve this conflict?

Closing this thread and posting in the Jetpack support forum.
