Hi Jason,

I have been running my s2member site with Open Registration set to Allow Open Registration and everything worked fine other than i would get hundreds of spam registrations at Subscriber s2member level0.

So I have switched the setting to No (do NOT allow Open Registration)

When i did this it created the following issue so I have to manually register everyone.

If you are logged off (like any new user would be) and try upon the return from Paypal purchase to use keyed link to create Payed Membership Acct the following occurs with keyed register URL after visiting and purchasing at Paypal the new paid members are sent to the following page:

http://erichschiffmann.com/wp-login.php?registration=disabled

It says the following on that page

“User registration is currently not allowed”

While trouble shooting this issue I logged into my Admin account and tried to use the keyed link again and instead of going to the page that says “User registration is currently not allowed”

The link goes properly to the s2 Registration page for new members.

So the new users it seems have no way to use keyed register link sent in s2member congratulations email to set up their paid registration for member account since when they use link it takes them to the page/form

instead of to

ADDITIONAL BUG REPORT
Also a side issue (BUG) if while you are on the page http://erichschiffmann.com/wp-login.php?action=register (shown in ScreenGrab #2)it also has a login option and if you click THAT login option it will take you to old Free Registration Page allowing a 0 level free Subscriber Level Membership to be created…

Jason, please help sort this out it is very frustrating. I hope the solution is not either spam by allowing open site or having to manually enter each new member… that would be drag.

Hi Arthur,

Were you ever able to resolve this issue? I am having the same problem – I turned Open Registration to OFF but now new registrants are blocked from registering.

This sounds like a plugin conflict to me. Have you tried disabling all the plugins and then re-enabling them one by one to identify the culprit?

I realize that this might be problematic on a live site, but presumably you have a test site where you can try this out first.

I have not tried yet; we’re currently trying to get approval from the client for more hours because of some of these issues so I’m kind of stalled out and was wondering if it was something I just didn’t have set right. I will check on the plugin conflict when I can. Thanks for your reply.

As a follow-up, I activated the twentytwelve theme, ran a transaction, and the problem did not happen. So it looks like a theme issue for us.
