• Hi,

    I am a self-taught WordPress user.

I notice a few things that have me wondering why they are happening, and why they don’t happen differently. I hope you don’t mind me sharing some things that I’ve been noticing.

First, I use HeadWay Themes, but I don’t think that’s what’s causing what I’m about to tell you.

What happens is when I start a new site, I use pages, no posts. I create them, go to Appearance, Menu, to set up the menu and adjust the order.

At first, I used to think that’s all, as I would see it on the site when I test it out.

    But:

1 Usually I see 2 Home Pages. One I’ve created, and one that is already there, although I did not see the additional Home page it in the ‘Pages’ list, and wonder where it came from. I would have to delete one of them.

2 The menu was out of order.

I realized I have to go to Appearance, Customize, and the Navigation menu, (which was now there) and make sure the menu is selected in the dropdown, to avoid the alphabetical order.

So, I thought it would be better if:

    1. there was no duplicate Home Page. If it’s not in the Pages list, why is it even there at all?

    2. have both sections that make the menu work in one place, so other users don’t pull their hair out like I was doing.

That’s it. Thanks for the otherwise phenomenal job.

    Cheers.
