Ordering categories of Bookmarks

Is there a way to order the way WP displays the bookmark categories? I don’t want to just order them alphabetically or chronologically. I found a widget that does it (though not well), but using widgets just creates more problems with my theme than I want to deal with.

I’m getting a list of the bookmarks with the function wp_list_bookmarks, and I’m sure it’s an issue of using the right argument, but none of them seem to do what I want. Any suggestions?
