• I’ve been using opencart for my ecommerce website forover a year now, and someone deleted everything I had. I’m considering using wordpress but know nothing about it. It seems there are no phone numbers I really just want to talk to a real person and see if this is right for me.
    I have a couple questions
    1. Can I build an ecommerce website with wordpress and is there a limit on how many products I can have?
    2. How do I upload? I will have around 13,000 products to begin with and was using CSV Import Pro with opencart.
    3. Is there a way for me to have a drop-down vehicle look-up menu? I found one that only has one download and tried to install it but can’t figure out how to use it…
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • Hi there! Yes, you can definitely use wordpress to build an ecommerce site.

I suggest a theme that allows you to use the free Woocommerce plugin as it is a fantasic way to set up an online store.

Uploading products would be from within your WordPress dashboard

You can add a search bar to your site and many WP themes come with that all ready integrated in the theme itself.

In addition to HappyZebra’s comments I would also recommend using the wpallimport plugin for importing all your products into WordPress/Woocommerce. It a great tool and I’ve used it several times when converting various ecommerce platform to WordPress.

    WP all import
