Archives permalink issue with nginx

I have a problem with my archives permalink settings on my blog.

I have set the permalink structure to /%category%/%postname%/ and everything works as expected but the archive links.
Everytime I click on an archive date it returns back to the main URL.
Is that a problem with nginx that doesn’t support .htaccess files?
