• A few days ago, I happened to covert cat to tag, then trying to revert back. As the result, there were some unnecessary cat shown, so I deleted them one by one.

Now I am creating some more categories like “Security, Internet, etc.”, but then they seems to be hidden in the Manage Categories, but they do show when write new post!

The next story is I selected the “Security” category, then published my post. I could see it with the post, so I clicked on the “Security”, but it turns out there are 10 same post shown; and I noticed double slashes “…/category//security”.
To my conscious, I tried another post with “Internet” category (it is also hidden but I can see if I use Windows Live Writer), there it goes double slashes again “//internet”, anyways clicking on it it will works as usual – 1 post shown.

I checked the Permalink config, nothing wrong as well as some other categories also work.

    What happen to these categories?

Opp! I’d love to add more finding of the same posts shown if category “Security” is selected. This cz’ under “Security” there are 10 child categories assigned to a single post.

WP categories are still way to improve to deal with such a problem, as well as some bugs like show the number of post with the category:

    -Security (0)
    –Antivirus (12)
    –Spywarez Protection (58)

Do you notice the (0)? This should be (70) as a total of posts from its child categories.

Sorry to bump, but I really have no clue why there are two //

    Is this the odd-one-out issue?

I am really helpless here 🙁

    Hey there,

What version of WordPress are you using?

If you have no posts assigned directly to the Security category, then it will show as zero in the count (this is normal). For the double slashes, check your category base (it should be blank) and the affected category slug (it should have no slashes).
