This is just a general "I'm curious" question - not support at all.
Automatic Updates is awesome. I love it. It makes updating things *so* easy. But I was wondering - why it is for plugins only? Is there a reason that you can't "auto-update" Wordpress itself? I think that would be great.
I thought of that but I'm such a control freak that I want to do it myself, my way. My way is to kill the /wp-includes and /wp-admin folders completely, and wipe out all the *.php files at the WP root (except wp-config.php, my .htaccess and robots.txt files), and then upload fresh files. So I don't think an auto upgrade would help in this instance. I've seen too many failed upgrades where files were simply overwritten.
P.S. Hi, Shelly from the WDG. ;)
Yeah, that's true. (But it would still be cool LOL)
