• This is my first post so hope I’m in the right place πŸ™‚ I’m also not very computer language savvy, so please excuse my ignorance of all things in this realm.
I recently changed providers from austdomains to godaddy. My hosting was changed over but now all of my pages and posts have disappeared (plugins and themes remain). I have contacted godaddy and they tell me it’s a wordpress issue.
Is there somewhere my pages and posts are, so I can retrieve and restore them? Thanks in advance.
    My site is labsdownunder.com.au

  • Your Posts and Pages are kept in the WP database, so they are probably still there.

The problem is that some paths and URLs in the database need to be edited to point to the new location. The Codex article ‘Moving WordPress‘ might help.

However, this article is not complete if you have any plugins installed that store an absolute path in the database. In that case you need to also update the database to the new pathnames. This can be done using this tool: http://interconnectit.com/124/search-and-replace-for-wordpress-databases/

This is not a task for inexperienced persons. If you are not comfortable making these changes yourself, you can post a job request on http://jobs.wordpress.net at no cost for the posting. However, you would have to pay for the work.
