Legitimate user being repeatedly blocked

    I am having a problem with a specific legitimate user being repeatedly blocked. I added both her email and IP to the whitelist but her IP address keeps changing so it’s not keeping her from getting blocked. She is getting blocked due to “cached bad IP”. What are all the states that would cause this block?

    I’ve removed the minimum time to submit forms in case it is related to automatic password filling and have also turned on logging to a history file to try to get further information. She has been using the site successfully for 6 days now and now every time she tries to log in it gets blocked. Anything else I can do to get her unblocked? She’s a paying customer and this makes me look bad.

    I would really like to be able to specify user accounts that shouldn’t be blocked, not just IPs since IPs change all the time with some providers. This plugin has been great so far for stopping spammers but I can’t have it stopping legitimate customers having access to their purchases.

    Well, it seems that setting the minimum response time to zero just locks everyone out of the site automatically instead of disabling the feature so I had to delete the plugin in order to get access back to my own site, so that’s fun. I would still love a way to use this plugin if I could whitelist accounts and not just IPs.

    There is a new version out tonight with Akismet checks disabled. It looks like something changed at Akismet and everyone was reported as spam.

    Thanks, Keith! I’ll give it another try. I really appreciate how much this plugin has helped with the spam registrations. I’ve gotten over 40 since I disabled it, even with trying other plugins to reduce the number.

    Same here. First time I received 15 whitelist requests. Installing the new version.
