I’ve put together a quick snippet to allow anyone to view editorial comments on “Edit Comments”: https://gist.github.com/danielbachhuber/9123282
Keep in mind they won’t be able to reply to editorial comments from that view.
Thanks, that did the job for me.
The only one down side doing that are the active Approve, Unapprove, Edit, replay etc. links under the title of each comment or in the bulk actions. Using them may mess up the Editorial comments.
So, we need to disable the Comments moderation.
Here is what I found on internet but any better solution will be much appreciated.
Thanks
function restrict_comment_editing( $caps, $cap, $user_id, $args ) {
if ( ‘edit_comment’ == $cap ) {
$comment = get_comment( $args[0] );
$caps[] = ‘moderate_comments’;
}
return $caps;
}
add_filter( ‘map_meta_cap’, ‘restrict_comment_editing’, 10, 4 );

I’ve updated the snippet to also remove the comment action links for editorial comments: https://gist.github.com/danielbachhuber/9123282
Looks like what is added in the snippet just removes the links, but the comments are still selectable for bulk action.

Can I access the Editorial comments for each post outside from edit.php screen.
It will be best if I can add them to edit-comments.php
Here is my case, just in case there is another way to do it.
I have a multi-author website. I need my authors who do not have edit right on a post, still to be able to see the Editorial comments.
I thought it will be best if they have a link to click in the post list table on the edit.php screen.
Thanks
