It is continuously under development. New features and improvements are implemented almost every week as users request me to do so. See the changelog
These are the new features since jan 1 2014 in reverse order:
- Table VII-D7: Avoid duplicates. When checked: will prevent duplicate photos in the same album during copy, move, upload and import.
- Search Photos Widget: Subsearch in current selection.
- Search Photos Widget: Treesearch in current album and sub albums.
- You can now also clear the viewcounts. Table VIII-B1.1.

- You can limit the front-end upload pixelsize in Table VII-B10.
- New Photo description keywords: w#tnurl ( thumnail ), w#url ( fullsize ) and w#hrurl, the latter giving the url to the local available picture with the highest resu;lution ( a sourcefile if available ).
- You can use &wppa-owner=[loginname] in querystrings to get the owners albums as an album enumeration.
- Photo status can now also be ‘gold, ‘silver’ and ‘bronze’; these will be displayed with a medal.
- Automatic medalling can be configured in Table IV-E.
- New widget: Best Of. A kind of topten widget based upon the ratings given in a certain period of time.
- Ugly browse buttons, like big browse buttons, but small and visible. See Table II-B13.1 and II-F1.1.
- Fotomoto support phase 1. Works on slideshows. Display width must be >= 500 pixels. See Table IX-K6. Read the Help [?] !
- You can select the way the name of new photos is determined. Table IX-D13.
- You can now enter also exif and iptc tags in the photo tags field and the albums default tags field.
- You can now hide the social media buttons when the slideshow is running, to disable shooting on a moving target. Table II-C2.
- Frontend create album. Table VII-B8,9. If configured and the user has the right to create: Shows up in the upload widget and the upload box with the default parent, on album covers and thumbnail displays with the current album set as parent.
- WPPA+ embedded gpx map solution. Works with Ajax, is faster but less configurable, is set to the default. Old implementation using Google maps GPX viewer plugin is continued for backward compatebility. Settable in Table IX-K.
- Share buttons on lightbox. Table II-B21.01.
- Share buttons on mphoto. Table II-B21.02.
- Users can be blacklisted and un-blacklisted. A blacklisted user will find all his photos ‘awaiting moderation’ ( and therefor only visible for homself and administrators ) and will be unable to upload, import or edit photos. Settable in Table VIII-A11,12.
If you do not like further feature enhancements or bug fixes, you can manually set the version number in wppa.php to 99.9.99 and you will no longer be bothered by semi-automatic updates that require only a mouse click and a few seconds of patience.
