   The gallery does not work on Firefox or IE7. I have the latest version of the plugin (0.96) as well as wordpress (2.5.1).

   The problem has been identified -- the plugin ShiftThis (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/shiftthis-image-captions/#post-1508) clashes with this plugin. Disabling ShiftThis got NextGen to work again.
