    Yes. I am interested. You are not the first to report this issue and I can’t reproduce it on my test site.

    The best would be to setup a test site with this error and I would be interested with access to FTP and WP admin (I plan to upload intermediate versions between your previous version and v1.4 to better focus where I have to search). What was the version before you updated?

    If you agree on this, you can contact me at:

    For people having the same issue, it should be solved with the current development version (1.4.0.5)

    Hey Chouby, thanks for looking into this for me. Unfortunately, as soon as I tried to save the language settings, the problem came right back… you can see that I am receiving the 502 error again: http://zoll.staging.wpengine.com/

    Is there another fix in 1.4.1?

    I deleted the plugin so that the site is viewable. Again, once I deleted the plugin, I was able to see the site. Thanks for all the help so far. -Rich

    I am quite sure that the error is in Polylang. Have you tried to log errors with:

    define('WP_DEBUG', true);
    define('SCRIPT_DEBUG', true);
    define('WP_DEBUG_LOG', true);
    ini_set('display_errors','Off');

    in wp-config.php above the comment

    /* That's all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */

    are you saying you are quite sure the error is NOT in polylang?

    I updated wp-config to include debugging. you can have a look if you’d like. the only warning is something with caching file: http://zoll.staging.wpengine.com/

    Thread Starter jrstaatsiii

    (@jrstaatsiii)

    the caching file is showing a warning because staging sites do not get cached. I was able to reproduce the problem on a clean install of WordPress. It installs fine, but after I save a “second” language, the problem appears.

    Chouby, I have been in contact with WPEngine, and they are looking to see if one of their own plugins might be causing this. Can you provide me with an email address to pass along so you can be kept in the loop?

    I believe there is something wrong in Polylang since 1.4 but don’t know what. So far I have 4 users who reported this error. Two are hosted at wpengine.com. I have no news from the two others so I don’t know if it’s the case for them too.

    I fixed a bug in 1.4.1 (= 1.4.0.5) which I thought caused the issue. But obviously my tests weren’t sufficient (I did not want to break anything on your website).

    That may be a conflict with wpengine.com config. But without error logged it’s hard to find what’s wrong. If they can help, that would be great. I answered to your e-mail sent via the contact form on Sunday. You can use this e-mail to include me in the loop.

    Chouby – thanks for the quick reply. I passed your info to WPEngine, and they will be copying you in to the loop.

    I have a similar problem, but only in one language of the 5 that are setup on the site. The language is Chinese. There were less major issues with a second language of the 5, which was Spanish. The problems went away when I changed to default permalinks. I don’t know if this is related to the issues others are having or not. It would be nice to be able to use pretty permalinks on the site, for many reasons.

    Polylang 1.4.1
    WP 3.8.1

    Here’s a link to the site, although it’s using default permalinks until I get this worked out.

    @donhoward Could you check if the current development version works for you (1.4.2.4)?

    Apologies for the delay in getting back to you. I have not been able to get back to this project until now. I see there is a plugin update for Polylang. I would assume that would replace the development version you have linked above?

    Thanks,
    Don
