I accidentally have multiple WP usernames. How can I fix this?
-
I’m a newbie to using WP as anything other than a contributor to a group blog, and in the process of setting up my own WP blog accidentally created a different username for myself. I’m hoping someone more experienced can tell me how to handle this.
Here’s what happened. On the group blog the founder set up an admin account for me, with the format FirstName LastName. When I went to WP.org to set up my blog, I tried using that login, but it didn’t work and told me the username wasn’t recognized.
So I tried logging in with my email as the username, which did work. Now my individual blog has my email address as my username.
I’d like for people viewing either blog to be able to see that I’m on the other blog too, so I was wondering if there is a way to bring everything under one WP username. But is there a downside to doing that that I’m not seeing, because I’m a newbie? And I still don’t understand why WP.org didn’t recognize the login from the group blog — make sense to anyone here?
Thanks to anyone who can shed light on this.
