    Okay – I figured out a bit more. It’s because my webhost uses google pagespeed optimisation which does strange things to images. Deactivating this forces the plugin to use the first image. But it would be really nice if it could optionally pull the featured image 🙂

    I also want to use the featured image instead of the first image in the post. Anyone know if this is possible?

    Same! Doesn’t seem to be any answer on any forum event hough loads of people have asked. Did any of you find a fix or a different plugin? xx
