Twenty Fourteen Color Changes

I like the concept behind the Twenty Fourteen theme, but need to make significant color adjustments. I discovered the Anjirai child theme and that has me 90% of the way to where I want to be. But the problem I’m having is that I have the top header/menu area (the “Main Header”) in a dark color and the left sidebar (the “Secondary Bar”) in a light color. In order for the site title text to be a light color I have to select black as the “Contrast Color”, but when I do all the text in the left sidebar goes white and isn’t visible against the light background color. How can I get around this so that I can have white text for the site title and black for the sidebar text? I’d happily add some custom css to the Stylesheet Editor, but my efforts have failed thus far. Anyone know what css would change the color of the site title?
