I realise it's already been made clear that CommentLuv requires Curl support, unfortunately for me, Dreamhost has disabled this option.
I would love to be able to use CommentLuv, so I was just wondering if there was anything in development that might mean someday it wouldn't require Curl, or use an alternative method?

curl is quite important for it to work well at the moment, I have tried to put in an alternate routine for hosts that don't allow it but that doesn't appear to be working for some people to. I can't really do much about the functions on budget hosting companies.
if I release an AJAX version that would do it, I have some working concepts but I want to get the remote script and membership site running nicely before I release it.

I have made a beta version of the ajax commentluv and it works without curl, a download link is available on my blog (http://www.fiddyp.co.uk)
