Relation AND or OR doesn´t seem to work

    Hi, your plugin seems to do just what I want without the overkill that many other plugins have.

    However, when trying to display only certain categories, it doesn’t seem to work. Of course, I might misunderstand the functionality, but when reading the documentation, I think only downloads with categories cat1 and cat3 should be shown when using the shortcode: [ddownload_list categories="cat1,cat3" cache="no"]
    A file that has cat1, cat2, and cat4 also show up in the list.

    Hope you can help me get this to work.

    Hi,

    The AND OR relation is only used when using categories combined with tags, so for example in category cat1 and tagged cat 2. In your situation the download list should consist of downloads that are in cat1 or cat3. This is the correct behaviour, however maybe I need to make the documentation more clear.

    Can you confirm that this is the behaviour you are experiencing?

    Thank you for you swift response. Like I said, I could misunderstand the functionality. This is obviously the case. The attribute name ‘relation’ should have triggered something 🙂

    I wasn’t using tags. The list that is created on my end is indeed a list where all links are either in cat1 or cat3.

    Guess I just have to think about how to get the lists to show up the way I want. It´s for a non-profit foundation that organizes marshalls at rally events. My idea is:

    – 2014
    – – Meetings
    – – – Board
    – – – – Agenda of meeting on 25-01
    – – – – Minutes of meeting on 25-01
    – – – Volunteers
    – – – – Agenda of meeting on 20-04
    – – Rallies
    – – WRC Germany
    – – – Maps
    – – – Time Schedule
    – – ERC Ypres
    – – – Maps
    – – – Time Schedule

    If you have any suggestion, that would be welcome. But it is more to show how I expected to set up the download lists. In my mindset all those items were categories with the deepest level being the actual Word or PDF documents.

    Anyway, thank you for responding and clearing things up.
