I have had Wordfence installed for longer and it always worked fine. Since a few days it hangs on:

[Feb 01 15:23:42]Scanning file contents for infections and vulnerabilities
[Feb 01 15:23:42]Scanning files for URLs in Google’s Safe Browsing List

    saying

[Feb 01 15:24:02] Scan process ended after forking.

as Updraft is the ast installation I did I remove Updraft and all is well. If I instal it again it hangs again on the

    Scan process ended after forking.

    Any ideas as to why?

    Hi,

I don’t have any knowledge of the internals of WordFence – it’d be better to ask in their forum.

It’s possible that your web hosting doesn’t allow enough time for a full scan, an that UD is just the one that gets missed because of it being at the end of the alphabet. But, that’s pure speculation.

Thanks. No answer in the other forum that is why I went here.

The Scan time can be adjusted and this makes no difference.

The error started to occur after WordFence detected the change in the Updraft files that where not a version change. I posted about that too here.

I also have other plugins that are alphabetically after UD. Once UD is removed the scan runs to completion.
