  • Use your ftp client or the file manager in your hosts control panel to rename or remove the fortis7 theme directory, then when you visit yoursite.com/wp-admin and log back in, the default WordPress theme should take over and put you back in control.

I removed the fortis7 theme but still can’t go to my site. I am not allowed to login and keep getting the same message.

Try clearing your browser cache and then visit your site directly at yoursite.com/wp-admin. If that won’t do it, you might try temporarily disabling your plugins for troubleshooting. There is a guide that might help with that: Login Trouble > Disable Plugins

I have deleted files and renamed. I have also download word press again and deleted old files. Changed files name and nothing seems to work

Try renaming the plugins directory to something different, to trigger WordPress to disable plugins. Assuming you’re able to successfully log in once you do, this, you can change the name back. Disabling plugins is a good step to take whenever you’re getting a strange error you can’t pinpoint.

I did rename it and deleted it. Not working!!!!

    What’s your site’s URL?

Not to be a pest, but you’re absolutely sure you’ve removed the Fortis theme from your server? I only ask because I can’t think of a reason why the error would still be appearing, especially for me since I wouldn’t have it cached, if the offending file does not exist? Have you deleted all themes that aren’t twentyfourteen? Also, have you deleted the Jetpack plugin directory?

I have doubled check and don’t see it anymore. I deleted the folders from the Recycle Bin.

When you say you deleted them from the Recycle Bin, does that mean you deleted them on your local machine but not on the server? Is your site hosted on your local machine, or on a remote server?

I purchased it from Envato and I downloaded the file from their website. I removed all the files from my computer. I can’t remove anything from Envato. I have send them several emails requesting that they deactivate it on there end. Do you think that will help?

Envato doesn’t have anything to do with your web hosting, they’re just a marketplace where I’m guessing you bought your site’s theme. Who is your site hosted with?

Can you send us a screenshot of this folder from your file manager?

    /home/content/58/10818258/html/wp-content/

The theme is still there, and probably still active.

Remove the fortis7 theme folder from the /wp-content/themes directory located on your web space, not on your pc. Use your ftp client or the file manager in your web hosts control panel to locate and rename or remove the fortis7 folder.
