Svn upgrade required?

    I’m try to push a patch for my plugin rsvp-me with the new 3.8.1 release and SVN is choking up saying I need to svn upgrade, but when I do it says it can’t update because the svn files were made via the previous version?

    Jeez, can we get on git now? Its really ridiculous and bit embarrassing that WordPress is still on this archaic version control system.

    Anyone got a fix for this?
