    Hi,

I tried connecting Jetpack to WordPress.com and i get this error:

Your Jetpack has a glitch. Something went wrong that’s never supposed to happen. Guess you’re just lucky: xml_rpc-32700
Try connecting again. Error Details: The Jetpack server could not communicate with your site’s XML-RPC URL. Please check to make sure http://www.nucurves.com/xmlrpc.php is working properly. It should show ‘XML‑RPC server accepts POST requests only.’ on a line by itself when viewed in a browser and should not have any blank links or extra output anywhere.

    Accessing http://www.nucurves.com/xmlrpc.php says this:

Warning: ini_set() has been disabled for security reasons in /home/nucurves/public_html/wp-includes/load.php on line 278

Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/nucurves/public_html/wp-includes/load.php:278) in /home/nucurves/public_html/wp-includes/class-IXR.php on line 372
XML-RPC server accepts POST requests only.

And that’s it. It doesn’t tell me how to fix it or even a link to this forum to look for solutions. I was expecting more from a plugin of this calibre.

I tried most of the solutions in this thread to no avail.

By that i mean, i tried disabling the settings in my security plugin, then i tried disabling all of the plugins except jetpack, i even tried deactivating and reactivating jetpack, no change.

I went to line 278 on Load.php, it’s just a comment line, so are the 5 lines above and below it, so that error message is talking jibrish.

I also tried setting define(‘WP_DEBUG’, true); in wp-config.php back to true and then back to false again (it was already on false). Setting it to true almost crashed the site, gave half a screen of errors above the backend GUI.

I haven’t tried switching themes though, because i don’t wanna lose any of the work that i already did, also because i’m 99.9999% sure it’s not the problem, i have the same version (Graphene 1.9.2) on a lot of other sites that already have jetpack, they also have the same security plugin and settings.

The only thing that is different is that i updated to WordPress 3.8.1. I’m also using the latest version of Jetpack, v2.7.

If i can’t be helped then i guess i gotta find a replacement for stats and the Carousel features. Any suggestions for those are welcome too.

    Thanks,
    Joe

This error is not linked to Jetpack, but to a configuration issue on your server. Your hosting provider should be able to help, or your could try the work-arounds suggested here.

Looking at your XML-RPC file now, I don’t see the error message anymore. Have you managed to solve the issue by yourself?

You should now be able to connect Jetpack to WordPress.com without any issues. You will also be able to use other services using XML-RPC, like the mobile apps for example.

    Hey thanks for the answer.

Apparently you are right, it works now and i managed to connect, seems it was some sort of server issue.

I didn’t do anything since, except try to find a substitute for stats which there were a few but they either needed Jetpack to be installed already or they worked on the same principle so i couldn’t use any of them.

    Thanks again.

(So the lesson to be learned from this is to wait for the problem to solve itself 😛 )
