Meta slider will not display on iPad in landscape mode without crashing.

    Hi
    Beautiful slider, small issue. When using the slider, I cannot load my website ion iPad in landscape mode without it crashing.

    VoicesFILM.com is my website
    Using Vantage Premium theme
    Have not tried on separate theme
    Have disabled all other plugins and narrowed issue down to the meta slider

    Vantage theme includes built on support for the meta slider in the theme customizing options. It embeds the short code into a pho entry somehow…I don’t know enough about these things to explain
    It works wonderfully everywhere else I check the site except on the iPad ONLY in landscape mode.
    If I load the site in portrait mode on iPad, it loads fine and doesn’t crash

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Wes,

    I’ll check on my iPad in the morning. In the mean time could you try switching to Flex Slider? It’s also responsive, and pretty much identical in appearance apart from the Next/Previous arrows.

    Hey Tom,
    I did what you asked, switched to flexi slider, and that seemed to resolve the issue.
    Thanks for your help. If you come up with a way to get the responsive slider from having issues in landscape mode on the iPad please let me know.

    Hi Wes,

    I’ve taken a closer look and I suspect this may be a symptom of your page setup.

    In total there are around 30 slides in the slideshow, and the page as a whole is 14mb.

    Thats… quite big, and quite a lot of slides. There are no hard and fast rules, but a 1mb page size might be a good aim for a homepage. My mac had a bit of a struggle rendering the page.

    I suspect the page will load on an iPad if you dropped the number of slides in the slideshow down to around 5.
