Large Achive Site

    Hello I’m looking to create a site with an extremely large archive of pdf’s of newspapers ranging all the way back to 1932. There are approx 25,000 pdfs in total. These documents should be searchable and filterable by year and month. Does anyone have any ideas on how to achieve this. Should i use a custom post type? Is there particular themes or plugins I should use?

    What way should i approach this?

    I’ve never attempted anything like this, but you would probably need to use a commercial plugin in order to get functionality such as indexing of PDF content. A quick Google search turns up this plugin, which you might want to look at.
