Hi IBuildTraffic2,
Thanks for your comment. I think your classification of "sneaky, slimy, and scummy" is unfounded, for several reasons:
First of all, the link is easily disabled by following the instructions in the readme. Please check the documentation before posting a complaint, not after.
You are not obligated to keep the link of course, but I would certainly appreciate it since I put a lot of time into this plugin and offer it at no charge.
Second, the practice of adding links is common among other popular plugins like Spam Karma 2, Popularity Contest, etc. Spam Karma 2 adds a small banner similar to that of WordPress Tweaks, and Popularity Contest goes further by adding a link to every single blog post.
Third, WordPress itself even does this by adding a lot of default links to the blogroll (and a link in the footer of the default theme) -- all pointed at various places on WordPress.org.
If you are that offended by removable attribution links, then why are you using WordPress itself in the first place?
Some people would enjoy showing off that their blog has been fine-tuned. But if you think the tweaks counter is sneaky, slimy, and scummy, then seriously, just disable it!
