    Hi,

First, the free version looks sharp and has good reviews. However, I’m looking for a few features before deciding to buy the pro version.

    – Is it responsive yet?

    – Will the Pro version have volume control? I think this is a useful and practical feature for ease of use. I see that it has already been requested for in the forum.

    – Will it be possible to eliminate the “stars” completely in Pro? I don’t need them.

    – The “Artist field” is a problem for me. First, it looks like it is text-length limited. My site is for Cambodian music and I want to put a description about what the song is about.
I don’t need an artist name and I also don’t want the “By” to be visible. I want something like this in the Artist field:
This song is played first in ceremonies to honor ancestors, temple guardians, spirits and gods. It is also the first song played on the first day of a wedding ceremony.

I’m willing to pay money for a good plugin, features and support:)

    Thanks
    Andrew

Hi Andrew, sorry its taken me a few days to get to this. Hope I can answer your queries:

    – Is it responsive yet?

No, current pro version 2.3 is not responsive. But 3.0 is due for release very soon, and responsive is a main feature of the release.

    – Will the Pro version have volume control?

No sorry, I have no plans to incorporate a volume control in either free or pro. The plugin has around 50K – 100K active users and only a very few people have ever requested a volume control. Personally I don’t see a need.

    – Will it be possible to eliminate the “stars” completely in Pro? I don’t need them.

Yes, pro 3.0 has an easy on/off for ratings as well as most of the other UI elements. In the meantime, you can remove the star ratings in either free or pro using css.

The “Artist field” is a problem for me.

Hmm interesting one. Pro 3.0 has an easy on/off for the artist field, and you can remove it using css now if you want. However there is not an easy way to customise this field as much as you are suggesting. If you’re happy to modify a few lines of code it would be possible to customise it like this for your install

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I’ll hold off for now and check back on the future upgrade.
It is a cooler looking plugin 🙂 than the one I’m using now though.

Hi Maeve, first can I say.. I think you’re work is amazing!

Secondly, I want the pro version of this plugin, but I have one question, and it maybe a silly one as some of the other questions I’ve seen asked about this plugin, but, when building a playlist, do you still have to add each song individually? I mean enter the mp3/ogg file path, album cover, song title for each ‘add song’ entry? I mean, is there not an automated way of importing an entire album from a folder and those fields be filled in automatically? Just seems tedious to add each individual track one at a time. Also, the ogg is a required field, but all mine are mp3? I pasted the mp3 url in that field just so that it would have something in it and the playlist worked. I was just thinking, clicking upload, then addmedia screen, copy url, paste it in is alot of work to insert one track and then have to do it all over again for each track you want on your playlist.

Thank you in advance for any advice offered, it is greatly appreciated.

    Hey @xfreespiritx
Currently yes you do have to add tracks individually even in pro. I agree, it’s not ideal… I’m working on an import/export csv feature for next major release of pro.

Yeah, basically you do need OGG for full cross browser and cross device compatibility of the player. I’ve written a full explanation of that in the documentation for anyone who’s interested please check that out here –> http://enigmaplugins.com/mp3-and-ogg/
