• I’m having problems changing the link URL of an uploaded image in WordPress’ new media uploader. I’m able to change values of other input fields (e.g. Title, Caption and Description), but changes to the Link URL input field are ignored by WordPress. Is this feature fully implemented or did I miss something here?

    Thanks

  • I have exactly the same problem. Upload an image, change the link URL, click save. The link reverts back to “default” each and every time…

    Same with me, can’t seem to get it to work. I have not found an alternative method of displaying uploaded images in a gallery format with clickable links to external sites…

    The Link URL input field is only active at the time you insert the link into the post. It doesn’t “save” anywhere, it’s only used by the insert to post function.

    If you want to change the link, you need to edit the post itself and change the link there.

    so how do you change it in the post? I mean in the Page… I wanted a gallery in one of my Pages and it just won’t save my edits.

    @otto42:

    What if you NEED to change the media URL if it has changed, for example if you must change your site URL or need to update the location of your file uploads (say to something other than “/wp-content/uploads/”)? Or say, if you upgrade your WP site in a different “home” directory.

    For example: /home/.blahblah/username/old.domain.org/ ends up being inside the URL of the Media item, and I can’t change it in the “Link URL” field when I “show” and item in the Media Library.

    Sometimes, we change our minds, too, for where we want our media to be stored!

    As of now, the only way to do this is to find the location (“guid”) in wp_post in the database, I believe?
