Hi! The default short code in the parent “our menu” page is [wppizza noheader=”1″] but it’s not showing up when i preview page. I made a separate page called “menu” and added in the short code [WP_Restaurant_Menu id=”1″]. When I clicked “Preview Page” it did not show my Appetizer category or others that are listed under this.

Is my id wrong? If so, how can I know what my id should be? -or- is there a different set of short codes that I should be putting in.

    Thank you in advance!

    Hi,

    > [WP_Restaurant_Menu id=”1″].

what kind of shortcode is that supposed to be ?

    >….default short code in the parent “our menu” page is [wppizza noheader=”1″] but it’s not showing up ….

ps: the default shortcode of [wppizza noheader=”1″] shows your first category. if that doesnt have any menu items , nothing will show up

if you want to specifically display another category there you have to put in a shortcode like this:

    [wppizza category=”appetizer” noheader=”1″]

    (change “appetizer” as appropriate)

I removed the following short code. I think it was from a previous.
    > [WP_Restaurant_Menu id=”1″].

I am working only with [wppizza noheader=”1″] and added an Appetizers category and then added in a menu item. When i go to preview page, it doesn’t show anything.

Also, when I go to the default “Our Menu” page, the preview shows nothing. There are categories and menu items by default. I can view each category page and see the items but cannot see the parent page.

Also here is the link to the sitehttp://bayavesushi.com/menu/ and http://bayavesushi.com/menu/appetizers/

Am I wrong to think that the parent menu page should have a list of the categories that the user can click on to view the items in that category?

entirely depends on your theme what it does there and also as to how you are using the plugin.

let me suggest you have a good read here:

so, now we had a chat privately and i had a look i believe we have you on the right track now , so i will call this closed

for anyone else who might read this or experiences something similar, the answer in this case was in my second reply regarding default shortcode without specific category selected …

Just wanted to let people know that this is resolved. The short code [wppizza noheader=”1″] is used for the parent directory and you have to make sure your fist category has items in it or it will not show up. In my case, I did have a category but didn’t have a item in there, thus the page was blank.

    TY again ollybach
