Thank you very much for your feedback.

    Message from German native speaker:

In German, the correct transliteration for the “umlauts” is not a/o/u/s but rather ae/oe/ue/ss.

Now there is one table for all languages.

If umlauts spells differently in your language – than it would be more correct to make an exception for your locale.

Please check out plugin’s code and check if all letters from your language spells correctly.

Please provide your language, your locale and table of letters from your language and how they should be replaced. Provide only letters which are replaced not correct in your language.
Check out how other user provided their letters.

But provide only letters from language which is native for you.

    Hope this is ok:

    ‘/å/’,’/ä/’,’/ö/’, //swedish
    ‘/Å/’,’/Ä/’,’/Ö/’

    TO:

    ‘a’,’a’,’o’, //swedish
    ‘a’,’a’,’o’

    Thanks!

I updated the Filenames-to-latin plugin and added exceptions for Swedish letters (å=a, ä=a, ö=o) as you posted before. But you should enable Swedish locale ‘sv_SE’ in wp-config.php file for converting ‘åäö.png’ to ‘aao.png’.
Otherwise ‘åäö.png’ will be converted to ‘aaeoe.png’ like in German language.

Please update the plugin via WordPress admin dashboard and test it with Swedish filenames and write me back if plugin works fine.

P.S. I mentioned you in the changelog.
