   For minipost with my template/theme, I can't be using widgets I need the actual PHP coding to put it into my sidebar, anyone know what it would be?? The widget is nice but cant use that need the php.

   You would probably use the query_posts tag. http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags/query_posts
