I set up wordpress on my laptop and it works fine.

I have copied all my files across to my pc and now I get the ‘Error estabishing a database connection’. I am using WAMP and I have worked on wordpress sites before on my pc before.

I’m not 100% sure how to check ports. I left clicked on wamp/Apache and it says that port 80 is being used by Apache, which I assume is correct.

    Please can someone help?

As far as I know, nothing changes. I’m not sure about the server side of things…. that’s a little over my head. I’m working locally on both. Could it be a security/firewall issue?

You have to also export the db from the laptop, create a new, empty db on the PC and import the laptop db .sql file into it.

If you are using WAMP on both, then the db user and password should be the same and you won’t have to edit these credentials in the PC wp-config.php.

Thank you for the assistance. I managed to solve the proble… a really basic mistake of missing one letter in the database name. Apologies for wasting your time but I appreciate you trying to help.

    Thank you
