karindalzielI am looking for a plugin that will let me add sub categories for links in Wordpress (much like regular sub categories).
I want to do this because I am using Wordpress to create a 'best of the web' directory, and the links category would be ideal- if it only had subcategories. You can see a mock-up of what I am trying to do here: http://nirak.net/nlcnewsite/?page_id=17 - basically, I'm trying to recreate a current web directory in Wordpress. The mock-up uses posts for the links (and this plugin)- which is NOT ideal, especially since they'll probably want to have a blog on the site.
So what I'm wondering is: is there a plugin to do this?
If not, I'm willing to try to learn PHP so I can write one myself. I'm hoping to do this over the summer as part of my practicum for school. Does anyone have any advice on this? Am I crazy to think I can just delve in and write a plugin in, say, 40-50 hours? I am pretty good at XHTML and CSS, but have never programmed before.
Also, any PHP resources you could point me to would be much appreciated.
