   I my blog I have got WINDOWS category.. so I wanted to use WINDOWS as a category slug to.. but cant use it.. why system doesn't allow me ??

   Are you sure? I've never heard of this. Do you get an error or something?

   its just showing that category is not updated... not any other errors... when i use windowsaa or mswindows it is accepting.. but only windows rejected...

   you've already got windows as a tag slug... really there should be no need to have a tag and a category as the same term. If it's related to windows, put it into the windows category, and don't bother tagging it "windows"

   All other categories are like that.. there is microsoft tag and also microsoft category slug but there is no any problems..

   And I tried using windows asa a category slug when there was no any tags.. and it didn't accept..

   I think problem is another thing..

   sorry, but I think that's not correct.

   I believe you can use a category name as a tag with no problems, but you can't create a category using the slug of an existing tag.

   In other words: Make the category first, then use it as a tag if you like -- it will not make a new tag, it'll simply use the category *as* a tag.

   I wonder why you ask questions if you won't at least go and TEST the answer before dismissing it.

   Thanks Ivovic.. I tried your opinion and it worked.. but I have done it before tagging and didn;t worked before.. but now worked... Thanks again..

   I had the same problem, and the fix here works.

   In summary:

   1. Delete your tag with the same name.
   2. Add the desired slug name to your category
   3. Re-add the tag if needed
