mica123,
By default All in One SEO Pack uses %blog_title% there which automatically should get filled in with your Site Title; there’s nothing wrong with doing what you did, but if you ever change the title of your site, you’ll need to change it in several different places, whereas by default it would just automatically update.
Many thanks for your help! Marking as resolved.
I very much hope you won’t mind me revisiting this thread. I realized belatedly that %blog_title% represents the site title – I simply got confused by this term.
The question is whether there is any point in having %blog_title% specified in the SEO formats as the %blog_title% would appear in the url anyway. Would it be safe for me to replace Site Title with a tighter short description – keeping in mind that there is a limit to the number of characters. An example would be say:
Page Title format: %page_title% | Tips and Tricks
Post Title format: %post_title% | Tips and Tricks
Date Archive format: %blog_title% | Tips and Tricks
Tag Title Format: %tag% | Tips and Tricks
My site is has been live only for a month – I hope this will not make things worse. Your advice would be greatly appreciated.
Hi mica123,
I don’t mind, given that it is your thread. Is there any benefit in using “Tips and Tricks” there for all four titles versus renaming your site “Tips and Tricks”? I think either way is fine, it’s just that manually specifying a different title means slightly more work for you if you ever want to change that title.
