• Hi,

When I go into CPanel on my WP site, and look through my directories, one of those directories, called “New” under the parent directory of “Mail”, fails to show me its contents. While other directories will either display a list of files and subdirectories, or display that the directory is empty, this directory just displays that it’s fetching the files, and stays that way indefinitely, never completing its fetch. Does anyone know why that would be?
    Thanks for any help.

  • While it isn’t unusual to see directory names similar to; Drafts, .Junk, .Sent, .Trash, cur, new, or tmp (the ones with dots are hidden by default) under the mail directory tree in your account, that is a question for your hosts support staff. The “Mail” directory is part of your hosted account features, not part of WordPress.

Thank you Clayton for clearing me up.
Let me ask a related question. My purpose for looking through my directories was to find the actual content displayed on my WP site so that I can copy it down to my computer for localhost development and debugging. I.e. I want to find where all the posts are, and where all the comments are, etc. So, far I haven’t been able to find any directories with much in them. Do you know which directories the posts and comments are in?
    Thanks for any further help.

Your content (posts, pages, comments..etc..) is stored in your database. Some general info: WordPress Backups
