Is there a limit on category amount in word press ?

    I did a search and didn’t find anything.

    I doubt there is, but I was wondering if there was a limit to the number of categories I can create and access in wordpress ?

    I don’t think my web host will limit it… unless I slow down the mysql server or something.

    There is no limit that I’m aware of. But you’re right when you say you might run into resource problems if you have something ungodly like 20,000 categories all appearing on the main page. 😉

    I can see my drive-in movie theatre site getting around 5,000 categories.

    50 states, around 3-5,000 drive-ins.

    I doubt my crestar game map site will get that many.

    I don’t see the ‘resolved’ thing here, but I consider this resolved.
