• I have recently moved to a bigger dedicated server and the current Jetpack is disabling the way the admin area functions.

I had brought this up in a thread with the response:

“Could you try to log in to your site via FTP, delete the existing Jetpack plugin folder, and reinstall the plugin manually as explained here:
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Managing_Plugins#Manual_Plugin_Installation

If that doesn’t help, could you please start your own thread, as per the Forum Welcome?
    http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpack#postform

    Thank you!”

I have followed this and deleted and added it manually and still causes issues as soon as it’s activated.

When I go to New Post the page loads, however, I cannot type any content and there is no toolbar of text buttons above the content box. I can still type a Topic but nothing else. Add Media doesn’t load. I’ve also noticed that a display of plugins doesn’t display correctly. Most submenu’s go to blank pages as well.

I’m not running a cache plugin currently, and there has been no changes or additions to other plugins.

If anyone knows of a plugin issue with others I’m running:

    Akismet
    Contact Form 7
    Disqus
    GD Star Rating
    Google Analytics for WordPress
    Google XML SItemaps
    Login Lockdown
    No Self Pings
    Shareaholic
    Sharpen Resized Images
    Simple Favicon
    Theme My Login
    Wordpress Popular Posts
    WPtouch
    Yet Another Related Post Plugin

When I disable everything except for Jetpack I still have the problem, even on another blog.

The problem could be caused by a lack of memory on your server. Could you check this page and see if it helps?
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Common_WordPress_Errors#Allowed_memory_size_exhausted

If you still experience issues, could you check your server error logs and paste the errors in this thread, so we can find out more about what’s causing the issue? If you don’t know how to access your server logs, your hosting provider should be able to help.

    Thanks!

Thanks Jeremy, I’ve contacted my host who’s been looking into this as well and we’ve hit a dead end. Having no errors listed they’ve increased the memory to upload and post limits in PHP to 200MB (and later tried increasing again.)

They’ve made it work right after an apache restart but otherwise it seems to not be lasting.

We’re both at a dead end on on this. Is there a commercial service you run to investigate issues like this? I’d hate to cobble together a bunch of separate plugins to do what your plugin offers and I’ve grown quite fond of it.

The blank pages, also called “White Screen of Death”, can be traced by looking at your server error logs.

If the pages loads properly, however, you won’t see any error there. You may, however, see errors in your Javascript console if the Visual Editor refuses to load. Could you follow the instructions here and check for Javascript errors on pages where no buttons appear above the text area, and where you can’t click the Add Media button?

    Thanks!
