• Sure, there was some massive backlash when version 2.0.0 came out due to some issues. I was one of those people caught out and resisted upgrading a further 148 sites that we host (with NextGen) for customers.

However, today we started the upgrade of all our sites since the bug fixing and sheer hard work that the folks at NextGen have accomplished to move this frankly amazing free software up to V 2.0.40 is astonishing – and it works. I’d say even better than 1.9xx. Good work guys. If the folks at Photocrati Media are reading this review, let the dev guys know that there are some people out there that genuinely appreciate the hard work you put in to fixing V2 (and making it even better).

If you find this extremely powerful plugin is not working for you, just raise a ticket in the support forum and wait for an engineer or knowledgeable expert to come back to you (for free). There’s a good chance you’ve got a theme conflict or other CSS failures. This is an incredibly robust piece of software engineering and I am genuinely grateful to the developers and company sponsors to gift this to the community. Of course, you can upgrade for even more features and a different level of support, but don’t do the plugin an injustice because you couldn’t get it working. Read the forums, do your R&D and get some hard work done yourself.

Actually, I’ve personally always found NextGen easy to integrate and most themes work with it well. Have confidence. It does work.

  • Hi, I would like to confirm what Mr. McCormick is saying. I too, resisted upgrading this plugin for quite a while due to the reviews I was reading, but I must say that once I did, everything worked fine and integrated well on complex sites using quite a few other plugins.
I too, appreciate the hard work the Photocrati Development Team has put into this fantastic, free plugin.
Thank you guys!! Five stars for NextGEN Gallery!
