Hi! I am designing the site http://beyondasana.org for a friend. She’d like the last page to feature blog posts http://beyondasana.org/breakthrough-blog that she can update herself, with the newest ones at the top.

The pages are static but I wanted the “Blog” page to be able to easily be updated with shorter “blogs” (I guess these would be posts?), much like the default front page of wordpress or http://halakhouri.com/blog/. I can’t find where to change just that one page in twenty ten. The template drop down allows either “default” or “one column, no sidebar”.

I’m relatively new to wordpress so I apologize if this is a relatively easy fix. I’ve looked at all of the dashboard features but I can’t seem to find it. Any guidance would be great.

  • I think what you want is a category archive page comprised of posts with excerpts and linked to full posts?
WP does that for you and you can add links to any category page in appearance » menus.

@beyondasana, easy. From the dashboard, create a page, in this case Breakthrough Blog. Publish the page, leaving the page content blank. Now, go to settings reading and there will be an option to set the front page to a static page or the most recent posts. Set a static front page, and select the page you want to display as your front page using the first drop-down menu. Next select the posts page using the next drop-down menu, selecting the Breakthrough Blog page you created in the previous step. Everything will update automatically after that.

Thank you!!!! It worked! I had to relink the new fresh blog page to the menu, but I can see how the posts now automatically go to the page. You are the best, thanks!!
