How to assign users to a self created role?

    The ids mentioned here is wordpress role ids as referred here

    Hey.

    Thanks for the answer. I already found this page.
    It’s not clear for me how to assign these roles.

    I tested it.
    For example: I had the user_login, user_mail and role.
    For role I tried to assign the name of the role via a string. Like “administrator” or “subscriber” and my own role “niederoesterreich”.
    But that didn’t work. Neither for the standard roles nor for my own created role.

    Am I wrong with this approach?

    I have also created a custom role but I don’t know the right string.
