Are you sure your search results are coming from Relevanssi? (eg. do you get highlighting in the search results?) Have you indexed the database after enabling tags in Relevanssi settings?

See the most important Relevanssi debugging trick. If you’re not seeing highlights even if you have excerpts on your search results page and have enabled the option, the results are not coming from Relevanssi.
I have the same problem. If a new bppress post is written, the tags just will get indexed, if the button for indexing (in the admin area) is pushed manually. How can I fix this?
I have no query_posts in my template. Do I need to use a special template for relevanssi to work? I’m using search.php

e1ght, Relevanssi is not compatible bbpress, so you’re treading on thin ice anyway.
Matthewordie, Relevanssi doesn’t require a special template, but there are some things that can make Relevanssi fail, extra query_posts() calls being the most common one.
Not seeing your site, it’s hard to say what’s wrong and why this doesn’t work; it should work, straight out of the box.
Now I´m confused. In this Thread it seems different.
That is a year old thread. Since then, things have changed. Relevanssi can index and search bbpress content, but the bbpress search doesn’t work with Relevanssi, and current versions of Relevanssi will not run if they notice the search is a bbpress search.
